As we grow we are looking for a highly motivated Sr DevOps Engineer to join our team. As an integral part of our development team you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and expanding our AWS infrastructure for our enterprise applications. This is a collaborative position; working alongside the Development team to architect, design, and develop infrastructure for our various SaaS web and mobile applications both internally and externally. This person should possess problem solving skills and be willing to incorporate their own ideas.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and scale application infrastructure for non-production and production environments

• Key stakeholder in the design, implementation, and maintenance of applications and tools across our AWS stack

• Evolve and automate our CI/CD pipeline

• Handle code deployments in all environments

• Work closely with Development and QA teams to help ensure end-to-end quality

• Work alongside project management teams to successfully monitor progress and implementation of initiatives

• Incidence management and root cause analysis

• Document and design various processes; update existing processes

• Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible

• Mentor colleagues and teams in devops and infrastructure best practices; inform and support architectural decisions

• 3+ years experience in a DevOps Engineering role or equivalent. More experienced folks are welcome to apply. 

• 2+ years experience building/managing applications on AWS

• Strong professional experience with automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, etc.

• Experience working with and managing microservices

• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases

• Experience with continuous integration services such as CircleCi or Jenkins

• Strong scripting experience (Python, Bash, etc.)

• Understanding of Linux systems

• Understanding of serverless technologies

• Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Highly motivated with excellent problem solving skills

• Able to work together with Engineering SCRUM team

• Firm grasp of modern application security requirements

Stand Out Attributes:

• Experience with monitoring/observability tools(DataDog, New Relic, etc.)

• Experience with cloud/network security tools(AWS WAF, CloudFlare, etc.)

• Experience working in a fast paced, startup environment

• AWS certification or equivalent

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field

• Excellent communication skills (in person, on Slack, over video chat)

• Experience creating clear and concise technical diagrams detailing operation of software and/or infrastructure components.
